Hope is dashed once more in the promo for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6. It’s time to break down the promotional material to see what to expect in the new episode.

Since arriving in the past, all Henry has wanted to do is find his wife. It’s time for him to make it clear that this is who he is looking for, and maybe it changes everything for Arch Bug, as he has looked down on Henry this whole time.

However, just as it looks like Henry will find Julia, hope is dashed once more. Julia goes into labor, and things aren’t sounding all that great.

Take a look at the promo and synopsis for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6 before we break them down:

Henry (Jeremy Irvine) continues to look for Julia (Hermione Corfield) until a new discovery threatens to end his search.

Henry is finally honest about the woman he’s looking for

Henry has always been open that he’s looking for someone in particular in the past, and Isaac Grant hasn’t exactly stopped him from looking. However, it’s clear that Arch Bug and others have looked down on him for this search. Things could change in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6, as Henry is finally honest about the woman he wants to find.

He tells Arch that he’s looking for his wife. Now, it’s not clear at the point Arch is in his life. Is he married to Murdina yet? If he is, then he will understand that type of love, as Arch and Murdina Bug were always focused on each other in Outlander. If he hasn’t married her yet, then this could be a turning point for him as he gets to understand that this type of love exists.

Julia’s waters break in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6

Julia is about to have the baby. This is the baby Simon believes is his own, but we know that it’s Henry’s. Well, this could lead to Julia and Henry finally being reunited, as Simon calls for a midwife.

Of course, Julia has been through childbirth before, but in a different time period. We’re sure to get some flashbacks to the birth of Claire as Julia thinks about how Henry was there with her for her homebirth. Now she’s in a different time with different men and under stressful circumstances.

Things don’t sound like they go well

When Henry meets with the midwife who helps deliver the baby, hope is dashed once more. The midwife says that it’s “not good news.”

Now this could mean a few things. It could mean that Julia and the baby don’t survive the birth, but I get a sense that that’s not going to be the case. What the midwife likely refers to is something that Simon wants to happen before the birth of the baby.

Simon wants to marry Julia in Blood of My Blood

For Simon, he’s focused on the coming of this baby that is supposed to be a king. He believes that this is the baby from the prophecy, which we’re assuming is the 200-year-old baby prophecy from Outlander. So, to be able to make sure his child sits on a throne, he needs to legitimize it.

There’s one surefire way to legitimize the child. He wants to marry Julia Beauchamp. Of course, Brian looks shocked at this, and there are likely a few reasons for this. However, one thing Brian knows that Simon doesn’t is that Julia is already married and looking for her husband. Could this upend everything for Simon, or will Julia be forced to marry him?

Arch Bug seems up to something

Look at the trailer for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6 closely at the end. Just before the midwife tells Henry that it’s not good news, the camera pans to Arch Bug. He looks like he’s shifting because he’s guilty of something. Is it possible that he’s plotted to make Henry think that Julia is dead so that he stops looking?

Alternatively, Arch could be learning that something has happened. If he finally understands what Henry is looking for, then maybe he wants to reunite the two. Maybe he’s disappointed that Henry’s search is ending in heartbreak, but that doesn’t make sense for the Arch that we know, so I’m going with that he’s plotting something and now feels guilty for it.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood airs on Fridays on STARZ.
