A lot went down in Outlander season 7, episode 15. Here's a look back at the top moments from the episode.

Outlander season 7

We got a story across three timelines in Outlander season 7, episode 15. Here are the top moments from the entire episode.

An episode of Outlander is never easy to break down. It’s the reason I split up the moments so they’re not just the top moments of the episode alone. I also have the best character moments. This penultimate episode had so much happening, and everything worked so well together to push us into the final episode of the season.

It’s time to look back at the episode, though. With the Battle of Monmouth, Buck learning the truth about his parents, and Brianna realizing what she needed to do, here are the top five moments from Outlander season 7, episode 15.

Claire and Jamie having a quiet moment together before the battle

Before each battle, we’ve seen an intimate moment between Claire and Jamie. Now that they’re in the Colonies, a lot of these moments have been in the tent, and they’re focused on living long after others who have come before them. That happened in Outlander season 7, episode 15.

It was important to see Jamie and Claire have this intimate moment. We need to see that they are still each other’s hearts. They turn to each other for peace and comfort, and that’s something Jamie does in this episode. I don’t need the sex scenes; I need these quiet, intimate moments.

Buck’s reaction to learning about his parents

It was only a matter of time before Buck learned that he had met his biological parents in 1739. That came with the type of reaction that you would expect. Buck was angry that Roger had kept this quiet, especially when they had been on the hunt for a man Roger had never even met!

Buck’s argument against Roger saying that they couldn’t change the past was perfect. What if this was how it was always meant to happen? Buck should have gone into the house with all the information, especially once Dougal walked in as well. But I also love that Buck moves past this initial anger as there is much more going on.

Young Ian calling William cousin in Outlander season 7, episode 15

When William found out that Young Ian knew they were related, William said “cousin” in an angry and hateful way. However, that didn’t stop Young Ian from coming to rescue William from the Hessians. This certainly shows that Young Ian understands the anger and still views William as someone worth saving.

The best part for me was the way Young Ian said “cousin” to William. It was without hatred or anger. This was with love, showing that he would like them to be close once William is ready to accept everything. The door is always open for Young Ian.

Brianna picking up Frank’s book

Brianna knows that she needs to go to the past. She and the children need to be reunited with Roger, but she won’t go back without supplies. It looks like one of the supplies could be a book.

We see her walk to the bookshelf and pick up Frank Randall’s book. She turns to the back page and looks at Frank’s photo. It’s like she’s turning to her dad to figure out what to do next, because yes, Frank is still her dad. That never changed for Brianna. He was the man who raised her, and she has always thought of him after learning the truth about Jamie.

Denny and Rachel rushing back to save Claire

At the end of Outlander season 7, episode 15, Claire’s life is put on the line. She’s shot in the abdomen, and the surgeon declares that she can’t be saved. Jamie won’t give up, and Claire, in her weakened state, is able to tell him to send for Denny.

Of course, Denny and Rachel immediately return to Claire. They will do what they can to save her. They have always made their respect and love for Claire known, and now they get to put her teachings into practice. I just adore having these two in the series.

Outlander is available to stream on STARZ.
