After being on the sidelines for most of Outlander season 7B, things changed for Brianna in Outlander season 7, episode 13. Her Mama Bear came out as she searched for Jemmy.
Brianna learned that Jemmy isn’t in the past at all during the previous episode. This was a huge turn of events for her, as she’d said goodbye to Roger while he went through the stones to search for their son. Now Roger is in the past for no reason—or at least, no reason that she knows of.
With Roger gone, Brianna has had to figure things out herself. Here are her three best moments from Outlander season 7, episode 13 as she went on the hunt for Jemmy.
Threatening Rob only to realize he’s right
The episode started with Brianna deciding to threaten Rob to get answers from him. She’s a smart woman, and she used the priest hole to her advantage. After tying Rob up, she kept him locked in there while she figured out what to do with him.
The problem is that Rob holds the cards. If she kills him, Jemmy’s whereabouts die with him. At least, that’s the way he’s put it, and she doesn’t know any different. How does she know at first that there are others working for him—there clearly are to get him out of the priest hole.
Bree has to admit defeat with Rob, but that doesn’t stop her from searching for a way to find her son. She just has to rely on more legal means, such as by going to the police.
Trusting Mandy to lead them to Jemmy
We found out that Jemmy was in the dam. He was able to use the story Bree had told him to find his way out, and as he made his way through, Mandy was able to feel him again. It was as he stepped through the ley lines that she could no longer feeling him temporarily. However, Brianna trusted Mandy throughout the hot and cold game.
Bree has never doubted their connection once she saw it. Instead of questioning it, she’s just accepted that it is who they are. In this moment, she made it clear that she believes her children’s connection and she trusts them.
This led to finding Jemmy, where she made it very clear that he was brave and good—everything he needed to hear at the time.
Turning to Fiona and Ernie for help
With the police being no help and it being clear that someone got into the house, Brianna realized that she needed to get her children to safety. I love that we see she turned to Fiona and Ernie for help. While Ernie has no idea about time travel, Fiona does, and Brianna is able to tell her everything. On top of that, she can give Fiona the box of letters to keep it safe.
I adore that we get to see that level of trust. It makes it clear that there is a friendship here, even if we’ve never seen it blossom. Fiona had such a crush on Roger that she could have been jealous of Brianna, but instead, she has embraced this friendship and is happy that Roger is happy.
