Outlander season 7
Outlander season 7

Jerry MacKenzie gets the shock of his life in A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows section 8. The plane has disappeared.

Now we know where Jerry is. We already know from the Outlander books that Jerry went through the stones. At first, he was presumed missing in action, but Roger would eventually come across his father, realizing that his dad had gone through the stones. There’s where he got the time travel gene from. Jerry has no idea about any of this, though.

Breaking down A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows section 8

The section starts with Jerry waking up from his trip through the stones. He has no idea he’s gone through them, but we know that he has. That buzzing sound he heard was the stones opening up to allow him through, and now he’s landed on the other side.

It’s night, as Jerry thinks about how the three-quarter moon lights up the area enough for him to see. He looks around for his plane to get his bearings, but it’s gone. And not just been removed by the military. There is no evidence that the plane was ever there, and that’s something that plays on Jerry’s mind.

There is a silver lining. At least the buzzing and pain in his head has gone. That tells us that he has finished his trip through the stones. At least we know that he has made it through. If Written in My Own Heart’s Blood hadn’t already been told, there would have likely been many questions about when Jerry had fallen through the stones to. However, we know that he’s gone around about 200 years, as he’s traveled to 1739 from around the 1940s.

Could this section be used in a TV series adaptation?

What could be the chances of seeing this adapted? Well, in terms of an actual TV show, slim. If this was adapted, though, this section would definitely need to be used. We get to see Jerry fall through the stones.

It would be a little different for us, as we would see the stones. We’d take in everything that has happened to him, and we’d know why he can’t see his plane. Whoever played Jerry would need to be able to use his facial expressions to tell us what he’s seeing and what’s going on. This would be possible, though, as we’ve already seen Claire do it in the Outlander series premiere.
