Outlander Book Club: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 81 breakdown
Just the Outlander chapter
The chapter starts with Claire and Jamie in bed, connected intimately. They run through their days, and Claire notes that she saw the White Sow with her offspring. Jamie notes that he should take a rifle with him the next time for some meat. We all know how dangerous the White Sow is, though. I just love how she keeps coming up in the books.
Later on, there is talk of the Old Fox and prostates. Of course, Claire thinks about medical things even when she’s with Jamie!
When Jamie asks for the date, he notes that they are just days away from a date in Frank’s book. Frank noted Oct. 11 as the end of the American siege of Savannah. Jamie starts to regret allowing Bree to go, but Claire points out a few facts.
The city isn’t going to be invaded, so the family should be safe. She also tells him that it’s not like he could have stopped Bree once she put her mind at something. However, Jamie feels like he shouldn’t have sent Bree somewhere dangerous even for William.
Claire tries to reassure that there is nothing that will happen to Bree and Roger, but she has something else to say that doesn’t really help. There is nowhere safe right now. Not even the Ridge is safe, and that’s something they have to deal with.
