Claire sadly notes how nowhere is safe right now in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 81

While Outlander Book 9, Chapter 81 starts with us getting caught up on what Claire and Jamie have done recently, the chapter ends on a somber note. Nowhere is safe right now.

This is a short chapter that is more about giving us an update on Claire and Jamie. We’ve spent some time with other characters, and not really caught up with their day to day lives. However, this is more than just about catching up on what they’re doing.

Jamie thinks about Frank’s book. The date of the battle in Savannah coming to an end is close. Jamie starts to regret sending Brianna to the city, even for William’s sake. He wants his daughter safe, but there isn’t anywhere safe right now.

The chapter isn’t likely to be used in full in the TV series, but I could see some of it being used. I’l get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Does it foreshadow much? Not really. It’s a focus on what’s to come in history, and we already know that, don’t we?

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 81.
