Jamie dreams about Frank and Black Jack Randall in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 76
Jamie wakes up from a dream in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 76. He doesn’t immediately remember what the dream is, but he does wake with the need to stake claim on Claire.
It’s only later that he remembers the dream. It’s a faint recollection, but he realizes that it was all linked to the Randall family line. Jamie has just realized how similar Black Jack Randall and Frank Randall look.
We finally get a conversation that should have probably been had a long time ago. In fact, I’m sure that Diana Gabaldon has said in the past that Claire told Jamie that Frank and Black Jack looked similar, but this chapter now makes it clear that she never did have that conversation and now it’s time for it.
Will we see it in the TV series? I’m not too sure. If I’m honest, there isn’t any need for it at this point, but I would like to see it happen. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
I don’t think it really foreshadows anything, except that maybe Frank got something wrong in the book. That is something I’ll look at in the foreshadowing section.
Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 76.
