Outlander Book Club: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 71 breakdown
Just the Outlander chapter
The chapter starts with Marsali and Brianna taking the children to see if they can get some of the okra. The crowds are large, and in the end, they decide to fight to get some of the melon. Everyone enjoys the fruit, giving Bree a chance to ask what it’s like as a printer in the town.
That’s when they see some Loyalists attack the pub with their tomatoes. It’s clear that tensions are high. Joanie decides to get some information from the men for the sake of her parents’ publication, making it clear that she tends to get the information as people are least likely to suspect her as being the daughter of the printers. However, she gets a tomato thrown at her for that. When the men recognize Marsali as “the printer’s wife,” they turn on her and become a much bigger threat.
Bree tries to warn them off with her own tall stature. It doesn’t work, though. The men grab her and almost throw her in the water. Fortunately, Bree is able to escape. This certainly unsettles her, though. It’s clear that things are dangerous for Fergus and Marsali, but this isn’t going to stop them from doing what they’re doing.
