Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing in this chapter. The main focus is on getting Germain back with his family. However, there is a lot of talk of the Revolutionary War.

I get a sense that Bree thinking of how she feels safe with her family is foreshadowing things to come with the Revolutionary War. There is always a threat that the whole family won’t make it through. Bree has that sense of dread at the same time. That heaviness matches Claire’s in the previous chapter.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I don’t expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. We know that Fergus and Marsali aren’t going to show up in Outlander Season 7 at all, which takes out some of their storylines from Books 7 and 8. It wouldn’t make sense to keep the Book 9 storyline in then.

However, we could still see some of the trip happen for the MacKenzies. Roger will still need to be ordained when he gets back to the past, and that trip could be combined with the weapons and gunpowder storyline.
