Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Claire heading to her garden. The winter is coming, and Claire needs to make sure the bees survive, so she’s feeding them sugar water and telling them all about things that have happened on the Ridge. One of those is that the Murrays have left for now.

Claire moves on to collecting some of the last vegetables of the season, while she also tells the bees about everything else going on in the Ridge. Fanny and Agnes have formed a bond and they’ve been talking about the pros and cons of marrying a murderer.

It turns out that this has been on the topic of everyone’s lips at the Ridge. Bobby Higgins has proven himself to be a good and loyal man. He was a great husband to Amy and is still involved in his stepsons’ lives. There are a few women on the Ridge who would like to marry him and a few families who would like their daughters to marry him.

However, he is also viewed as an ex-British soldier with the murderer mark branded on his face. This puts a lot of people off.

However, while Claire continues her work, she sees Caitriona McCaskill heading to the Higgins house. It’s clear that Caitriona is not too worried about Bobby’s murderer brand.
