Jamie continues to build alliances in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 61

The Murrays and Jamie make it to Salisbury in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 61. It gives Jamie a chance to build an alliance.

Jamie definitely accompanied the Murrays to spend more time with them considering how long they will be away next. However, he went for othe reasons that linked to the upcoming war. He knows the war is going to reach the Ridge at some point, and he needs allies.

Sadly, the one that he finds isn’t close enough to help if there’s an immediate threat, but that doesn’t mean this was a wasted journey. It just means that Jamie needs to keep building alliances, something that he is good at doing.

I could certainly see some of this chapter being used in the TV series, but not quite in the way that it is here. I have a feeling that we’ll hear Jamie mention something to Claire about someone in Salisbury. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Does it foreshadow anything? This is more of just continuing the plot of the war, I think. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 61.
