The Murrays are ready for their journey north in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 60

Rachel reflects on the journey to come in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 60. She notes the dangers of it and the time that will pass while they are on it.

This is an interesting chapter in Rachel’s thoughts and feelings. We don’t get them a lot, so when we do, I appreciate it. Rachel has grown up so differently to many of the other characters we’ve come to know and love. She holds so much in, and I’d love for her to find her person to talk to.

This chapter also offers a hint of someone who could be a confidant for her. It’s all about Jamie, as he opens up a little to her to make her feel more at ease. We see just how he is welcoming Rachel into the family and helping her settle.

I don’t see too much in the way of foreshadowing in the chapter. We’re reminded of where Denny is right now, but that’s more about the plot to come.

As for being used in the adaptation, I’m in two minds. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section of this post.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 60.
