Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Young Ian going to see Jamie. Young Ian swears that he has enough money and supplies, but that’s not quite the case. Ian hasn’t considered the age of his mother. It’s not like Ian can travel the way he usually does.

Jamie has a request for as Ian gets to Philadelphia. He would like Ian to give Silvia Hardman some money. We remember her as someone who cared for Jamie when he needed it, and Jamie knows that she makes money soliciting men. No, he definitely didn’t do anything, and I giggle at Jamie making that clear to Ian.

If Silvia has a new husband now, Ian will need to give her the money discreetly. If she doesn’t, then Ian will need to look out for anyone dangerous in the area who could hurt Silvia and the girls.

Next, Ian goes to pick out some cheeses for the road, which is where he talks with Claire. She suggests some soft cheeses for Oggy, and then realizes that he is going to be much bigger the next time she sees him. She’s sad, but she laughs it off with a comment about him having a real name when they return.

Claire’s request is an odd one. She would like Ian to visit a brothel in Philadelphia. Why would she want him to do that when he has a wife and when Jenny is with him? There is a good reason.
