Outlander Book Club: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 57 breakdown
Jenny surprises Young Ian with her plans in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 57
Young Ian goes to help Jenny milk the goats in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 57. It’s time for him to share his plans to head north.
Of course, we know that Jenny already knows about Ian’s plans to find Emily. Ian’s decision isn’t all that surprising. Instead, we get a surprising decision from Jenny. She’s going with them.
I also love this chapter as it brings up some of the Scottish traditions and mottos again. We’re reminded that everything changed before Young Ian was born. Young Ian will have heard things, but he doesn’t know things firsthand, and that includes the MacKenzie motto, which is very similar to the Fraser motto.
This chapter certainly helps to connect us back to earlier novels in the Outlander series. It doesn’t really offer that much in the way of foreshadowing, though. It’s mostly about developing the plot.
Will the chapter be used in the TV series? I think it could be, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section of this post.
Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 57.
