Mohawks visit with some scary news in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 55

Rachel is woken by Ian with his hand over her mouth in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 55. It turns out that there isn’t an immediate threat, but Ian does learn something a little scary.

Mohawk visit Ian and Rachel. They have some news, and it’s not good news. Emily’s name comes up again, and it leads to Ian worrying about her. Of course, this leads to Rachel questioning a few things.

It’s hard not to feel for Rachel. She doesn’t really have to compete with Emily. We know that, but it’s hard being the second wife. It’s not like Ian and Emily ended things on bad terms, and it’s even harder knowing that Ian believes Swiftest of Lizards may be his son.

However, Rachel is a kind soul, and she will do what’s best for others.

There is some foreshadowing in this chapter. It all comes to the discussion about Swiftest of Lizards and a mention of Oggy again. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I’m not too sure we’ll see this chapter used in the TV series, but I hope we do. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section of the post.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 55.
