Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with the wagon wheel going into the creek, which means Roger needs to go into the creek to get it. He strips off everything but his shirt to do it. This is where the conversation about what Claire said after hearing the plan for the MacKenzies comes up. It’s humorous, and pretty much everything that Claire would say.

Bree has a bit of a turn, and Roger immediately suggests that she could be pregnant. She is upset with the idea, and it’s clear that some of that stems from her heart problems. What if she gave Mandy her heart problems? Roger suggests that the pregnancy could actually help Bree’s heart, but it could also cause more problems.

Brianna starts thinking about Buck’s heart issues. Is it possible that the stones caused the problems?

Once the tire is fitted, it’s time to get back on the road. Bree drives to give Roger a break, which gives him time to ask about the magical bag of things Bree has brought on the road with them. There are some handmade Dr. Seuss books, which brings up a discussion of the dangers of having items from the future in the past. What if a printer got hold of them?

Bree’s thoughts move to Jane and Fanny. Fanny wouldn’t allow the original drawing of Jane to leave her hands, but Bree has a copy, and she wants to paint it for Fanny. Roger would also like to visit Jane’s graveside to say a prayer, which Bree loves the idea of. She wonders if she should draw Jane’s grave for Fanny, and Roger thinks that Fanny will like that.

At the end, Roger thinks with his stomach. Is there food in the bag?
