Brianna writes to Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 49

We get a short chapter that is just a letter in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 49. Brianna is writing to Lord John Grey, telling him some of the plans that she has.

This chapter doesn’t go into all the details of why Bree and Roger are going to be in Charlestown. She sticks to the basics. After all, if anyone intercepts the letter, she won’t want all the details getting out. Plus, John is still on the opposite side of the war compared to Bree.

What we do learn is that Roger is definitely going out to be ordained. They are also taking Germain back to his family. There is a hint of a timeline in this with Bree saying the letter will get to John before the end of September, but that’s it.

This chapter doesn’t really foreshadow anything. It’s all about the plans for Bree and her family. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

I don’t expect to see this chapter adapted. At least, not in this way. I’ll share my thoughts about that in the adaptation section of this post.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 49.
