Lessons in Chemistry stars Brie Larson as Elizabeth Zott. Elizabeth has a smart mind, but she’s in a time when women faced all sorts of discrimination in the workplace. All they could really be was a secretary, but Elizabeth had plans to be a renowned chemist.

She gets the opportunity to work on something when Calvin Evans. Calvin sees more than just the fact that she’s a woman. He sees her brilliant mind. As they work together, they start to fall for each other, but things end tragically in the second episode of the series.

This is billed as a limited series. That means it’s not going to be renewed, which makes sense considering the series is based on Bonnie Garmus’s debut novel. There are no signs that Garmus is going to continue Elizabeth’s story after that first book. Wrapping things up in one season does work well for a lot of shows.

Apple TV+ doesn’t have a habit of changing plans when it comes to limited series, so we don’t expect to see this show renewed.
