Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with us learning a lot about William’s outfit. This wouldn’t usually be something that we’d be concerned about, but we find out that the beetles embroidered onto the waistcoat were done by Amaranthus. She also seems to flirt with William as she offers to name each of the beetles.

William joins Lord John Grey and Hal Grey to the meeting with General Prevost. They end up bumping into Colonel Archibald Campbell, and this is a chance for them to learn a little more about the letter that Captain Richardson received about Benjamin’s death. That letter came from Ben Tarleton.

William shares that Lord John Grey received a letter about Richardson meeting with Haym Soloman. This Haym was sentenced to die as a spy in New York, but it’s clear that he escaped. How? Did Richardson have a hand in it?

William meets with Mr. Preston, the Undersecretary of War’s second secretary. He would like to know more about the details of Ben’s imprisonment, so the two agree to meet by the Arches. Preston wants William to bring Lord John Grey, who has experience dealing with prisoners after being at Ardsmuir.
