Jamie shares his side of the war in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 43

We return to the church services in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 43. It’s time for Jamie to share his plans for the war.

This chapter is a chance to learn more about the comings and goings of the Ridge. We see how people will attend all the services offered, despite not following those religions. I just love how some people attend because they’re bored at home. We have to remember the times and how little entertainment there would have been.

I love this chapter to see the workings of the Ridge. I also love seeing Jamie’s way of leading the people, while sticking to his own guns. Of course, it helps that he knows how the war will work out, so he needs to be on the side of the rebels.

I see a little plot development in the chapter, but not any real foreshadowing. As for the use in the TV series, I suspect that we’ll see something like it. I’ll get ot my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 43.
