Lord John Grey talks to Hal in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 40

After seeing Bree’s letter to John, we head over to him in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 40. He hasn’t received that letter yet. Instead, he talks to Hal, who is composing a letter of his own.

This chapter is focused on giving us more details of Hal. If you haven’t read the Lord John Grey novellas, you won’t know much about the Grey family. It’s important to include some of those details in the main books as well, as they could be important to the characters on our pages.

This chapter also focuses on the Ben situation. It’s clear that there are a lot of suspicions around what happened to Benjamin Grey. The family needs to get to the bottom of it and find out the truth.

The chapter doesn’t really foreshadow much, though. It keeps us on this particular storyline, which is finding out what happened to Ben. I doubt that it will be used in the TV show, and I’ll explain why that is in the adaptation part of this post.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 40.
