Bree writes a letter to Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 39

Brianna writes to Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 39. It’s a short chapter, that is more of just a reminder of her relationship with John.

These sorts of chapters are important for those who are new to the book series. It’s important that someone can pick up the ninth book and know the important details of family connection revealed in earlier books. There isn’t too much detail needed, but enough for the story to make sense.

This chapter offers us that. It also shows us that Bree’s fondness of Lord John Grey hasn’t changed even during the time that she was in her own time period.

I don’t think the chapter will be used in the TV series, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section. As for foreshadowing, I don’t think it offers too much. It just offers something else for Lord John Grey to do when we get back to his story.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 39.
