Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Claire seeing two strangers with wagons that are stuck on the roads through Fraser’s Ridge. She realizes that one of the carts has weapons, so Claire decides to get Jamie. He can deal with this.

Jamie takes men to surround them with others loyal to him and he gets some answers. The men are heading to Cunningham. So, Jamie gets them to his house and sends for Cunningham. The men are plied with whiskey by the time Cunningham gets there.

Cunningham is angry at the treatment of the men. He was friends with one of the men’s sons in the Navy. Jamie makes it clear that Cunningham’s land is just 10 minutes away from the Cherokee. He knows that the British want to supply the Native Americans with weapons to fight against the Rebels. Jamie won’t allow that to happen.

Cunningham pretends to be ignorant of the entire situation, but Jamie makes it clear that he will not allow the Ridge to be threatened by anyone.

After that, Claire asks if Jamie can evict Cunningham after this. Jamie wants to keep Cunningham close to keep an eye on him. Bree and Roger are all caught up on the situation, and there is talk of Cunningham raising a militia. Jamie makes it clear that right now, Cunningham’s actions are armoring the Ridge. Now all he needs is gunpowder.

Bree and Roger give over their gold bars. They will help to fight for the Revolution.
