Claire and Jamie discuss Lord John Grey again in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 35

When Jamie receives a letter about Denny Hunter, it turns into a conversation about Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 35. This chapter gives us an important look at how marriages work.

A lot of TV shows and books don’t really give us a look at long-term marriages and how they’re successful. We see cheating spouses, a lot of drama that doesn’t allow for quiet moments, and focus on new relationships. Outlander is different, and this chapter offers a look at how marriages last.

You see, Claire and Jamie have this moment where Claire thinks that their issues have been resolved. They certainly haven’t for Jamie, and he uses this chapter to bring something up. As frustrated as Claire is, she also realizes that Jamie needs to discuss this.

The chapter doesn’t foreshadow too much, but it does help to push a plotline forward. It’s time to see Claire and Jamie in the middle of some sort of drama again.

Will it be used in the TV series? I suspect that this might, but maybe not in the full way. I’ll share my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 35.
