Will Tom Christie return in Outlander Season 7B?
We last saw Tom Christie at the midpoint of Outlander Season 7A. Will we see him return in Outlander Season 7B, or is his story at an end?
Tom Christie brought us one of the most hilarious moments in Outlander. As he bumped into Claire in Wilmington, he kissed her smack on the lips. Claire was not expecting it. To be honest, Tom did it in that spur-of-the-moment thing as he saw the woman he loved believing her to be dead. Claire had thought Tom would have been dead by now, too.
Well, they’re both alive, and Tom is still in Wilmington for now. That was where the Frasers left him, as they ended up pulled into the Revolutionary War and headed north to Fort Ticonderoga. Now the Frasers are heading back to Scotland. Does that mean no more Tom Christie?
Will Tom Christie be in Outlander Season 7B?
Don’t expect to see Tom again. If we look at the books, there is nothing more of the character. We’re left to believe that he is able to live his life as a free man. He got away with a murder conviction purely due to timing. Of course, he should have gotten away with it. He wasn’t guilty of murder, but he wasn’t going to let Claire go down for something she didn’t do, either.
There’s no need for Tom to come back into the story. His return at the midpoint of Outlander Season 7A was more of closure for a few things. We found out that Tom was alive, and we found out who put the obituary in the paper. We also found out why Claire and Jamie were written as they had died: they were presumed dead by Tom. So, the paper didn’t really get the facts wrong—it printed the facts that it was given. History wasn’t changed.
Of course, the Outlander books aren’t over. Past characters have their way of showing back up in the lives of the Frasers. I just don’t see Tom being one of them.
