Claire has to get to work on Amy’s body in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 27

After a heartbreaking chapter, Claire has to put all her emotions to one side in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 27. She needs to work on Amy’s body to prepare it for burial.

We get to see just how Brianna isn’t suited for Claire’s work. We already knew that, but this is a stark reminder. Sure, Bree has the Fraser bravery to turn up even when she knows she can’t help, but she isn’t any good when it comes to medical needs. That’s not all too surprising when you consider she saw the attack happen, though.

We also spend some time with Aidan, who is shaken and distraught by his mother’s death. He wants to do something, though, and that means going after the bear that killed his mom. Jamie is more than willing to let the boy come along, although he hopes that Bobby won’t come as well.

This chapter is all about how the Ridge comes together in a time of crisis and need. There isn’t that much in the way of plot development or foreshadowing, and I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I’m not too certain that we’ll see it used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 27.
