Claire and Jamie think about Faith in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 24

While Outlander Book 9, Chapter 24 starts with Fanny, it ends with a discussion about Faith and Master Raymond. This chapter has led to a lot of speculation for Outlander fans.

The chapter starts with Fanny getting her first period. It’s a devastating moment for her, as she believes that the Frasers will put her to work. After all, she is a woman now. We know the Frasers wouldn’t even consider doing that, but we get to see the mind of this young girl, who has only really known one way of life.

There is a moment in the chapter that I really dislike. Claire tells Jem about what happened to Jane and the type of work Jane did. However, she tells him not to tell Bree that she told him. I hate it when adults ask children to keep secrets like this. Claire was definitely in the wrong for this.

At the end of the chapter, Claire finds out that Fanny’s mother was called Faith. This leads to her and Jamie thinking about Master Raymond and their Faith. Is it possible that Master Raymond saved Faith?

This chapter certainly pushes some plot points forward. It also gives us a look at the family unit as it is now. I’ll get to my foreshadowing thoughts in that section of the post.

As for the adaptation, I would love to see this play out. I would love for Claire and Jamie to have the discussion about Faith and Master Raymond.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 24.
