Two men are invited to stay at the house in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 18

There’s a clear push of the story about the threat to the Ridge in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 18. We also learn a little more about Captain Cunningham.

As Claire is coming back from some medical calls, she needs to wash in the creek. That’s when two men come upon her, and she offers them a place to stay at her house when they ask her where Captain Cunningham lives. This is important, as it gives Jamie time to assess who these men are.

We also get a beautiful moment between Fanny and Brianna. I love to see Fanny’s bond grow with each of the characters. She is someone different to each of them, and we can see that in the way she shares stories with them and actrs around them.

This chapter doesn’t foreshadow all that much, though. I think it’s more about plot development, reminding us that Captain Cunningham isn’t someone to trust just yet.

I just can’t tell if anything with Captain Cunningham will be used in the TV show just yet. I’ve only read Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone once, so I’ve forgotten a lot about him at the moment, which doesn’t help.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 18.
