Jamie forgives Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 17

Jamie spends the night reading and thinking about forgiveness in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 17. It leads to him forgiving Lord John Grey.

This is a quiet chapter, but an important one. Jamie has held onto some hatred for Lord John Grey for some time. When Claire and John believed Jamie to be dead, they married. That wasn’t the problematic part for Jamie. That part made sense. The part that angered him was when Lord John Grey told Jamie that the two had sex and he thought about Jamie the whole time.

It’s time to let some of the weight go. All it does is hold down the soul, and Jamie takes this time to forgive Lord John Grey. It’s a huge moment to push some storylines in the future forward. There is even some foreshadowing in this part of the chapter, and I’ll get to that in that section of the post.

I do expect to see some of this chapter used, but not in the way that it’s written. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 17.
