Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly opens up something that we already know Jamie has done. In fact, Claire knows it, too. Jamie is seeking absolution for killing Bluebell’s owner. Remember the man at the very end of Written in My Own Heart’s Blood? It’s all connected to that.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I don’t think the bit from Written in My Own Heart’s Blood that involves Bluebell’s master is going to come up in the show. The master is a man who raped Claire, and that’s why Jamie goes after him and kills him. However, we’ve never been told that anyone other than Donner escapes, and I don’t think that whole storyline is going to come up in the TV series.

So, that would mean Bluebell doesn’t come up. It would be much easier for the show not to include her. We already have Rollo, Adso, and Clarence. Unless an animal is necessary for the overall story or for the development of certain characters, they tend to be avoided. Just look at the lack of the use of the White Sow. So, I don’t think there will be a need to add Bluebell in as working with animals is difficult.
