Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter is more about the things that are to come. We know from real history that Patrick Ferguson is a threat. He does raise a Loyalist militia, and soon, the people of the Ridge will need to choose a side.

There’s this plot development of what the people of the Ridge will do. Bree will need to figure out how to make gunpowder to protect the people. Although, I do get a sense of dread as she could be arming people who will go up against them as the people want to remain loyal to the Crown but the Frasers and MacKenzies know the way the war will turn out.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I don’t see much that is likely to be adapted in this chapter. The cabin in question hasn’t really come up in the show. We went straight to the church being built, and the snake didn’t come up during the church service. There also hasn’t been a mention of the Masonic Lodge as that didn’t come up when Tom Christie was introduced.

The only bit that I could see being included is Bree talking about making gunpowder. However, this conversation can be added into another part of the story. It could even include Claire or Jamie as they talk about what the MacKenzies will do next. It’s the only important part for the bigger picture of the Revolutionary War.
