The Couple Next Door is the third project on STARZ for Sam Heughan. Here’s everything we know about the psychological thriller.
While possibly not in time for this Droughtlander, we are looking forward to The Couple Next Door. The British psychological thriller is set to come to STARZ, and we just recently got a first look at the new show.
This series follows a similar format to the Dutch series New Neighbours. We see a new couple move into a wealthy neighborhood, but realize that they are stuck in a world of class expectations and curtain twitching. It gets even worse when chemistry kicks in between some of the neighbors.
When is The Couple Next Door on STARZ?
As of right now, we don’t have a release date for The Couple Next Door. All we know is that the series will arrive on the streaming platform in 2024. This is the same year as Outlander Season 7B, so we don’t know if it will be before or after. We’re not expecting the two shows at the same time with STARZ knowing that Outlander fans will want to watch both for Sam Heughan.
It will air in the UK first. It’s set to air on Channel 4 in the fall in the UK.
The series is set to air on STARZ in Canada. Of course, we have seen STARZ say this before and then episodes go to other networks. It’s happened with both Outlander and Men in Kilts. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things for Canadian viewers.
Who stars in The Couple Next Door?
Of course, we know Sam Heughan is in the series. He’s joined by Eleanor Tomlinson, Jessica De Gouw, and Alfred Enoch.
Heuan and de Gouw play police officer Danny and his yoga instructor wife, Becka. Tomlinson and Enoch play Evie and Pete, the couple who just moves into the neighborhood.
How many episodes are in The Couple Next Door?
Like most British shows, the season is pretty short. There are six episodes to the series.
It’s not clear if this is a limited series or not. A lot of UK shows can be written as limited series but with the possibility of continuing if there is a call for it.
Is The Couple Next Door based on a book?
There are a few books with the same name as the series. This is not one of those shows based on a book, though. Instead, it’s based on the Dutch series New Neighbours, which follows a very similar premise of a couple moving into a wealthy neighborhood next door to a detective and his fitness instructor wife.
