At the end of every season, we usually ask when it will come to DVD and Blu-ray. For Outlander Season 7A, we’re asking a slightly different question. Will it come to DVD and Blu-ray?
When an Outlander season comes to an end, we usually look at when the DVD release is going to be. The bad news is that while we’ve had a finale, it’s not a season finale. The series is going on a mini hiatus in between the season. This is something that we expected long before STARZ announced the decision.
So, the question of when becomes whether it will. Could Sony, the studio that produces the series and releases the DVDs, wait until the full season airs to bring us the DVD and Blu-ray?
Outlander Season 7A could arrive on DVD and Blu-ray
There is a chance that we’ll see the eight episodes released. We have no idea when the second set of episodes will air, and Sony has a chance to get a little more money out of fans than with just one DVD release.
It’s worth noting that the first season was also a split season. We did get both volumes released separately. They had different covers that showed us Claire and Jamie with Frank/Black Jack Randall’s hand reaching out for Claire. Both volumes were released in DVD and Blu-ray formats.
With the release of the second volume, Sony also released Season 1 as a whole. This worked well for those who didn’t bother getting the first set of eight episodes, choosing to wait for the full season.
With that in mind, we could see Outlander Season 7A released within the next few months. It tends to take four months from the finale to the release of the DVDs, so we could be looking at somewhere around Tuesday, Dec. 12.
