Outlander Book Club: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 5 breakdown
Claire questions the color of her hair in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 5
We get more time with Claire and Roger in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 5. The conversation about Dr. McEwan leads to Claire wondering about the color of her hair.
I love that Roger wastes no time in telling Claire about Dr. McEwan. Out of everything that he experienced, this does seem like the most obvious thing to talk about first. After all, that blue light is something Claire once experienced, and she knows that Nayawenne said that she would come into her full powers when her hair turns white.
In fact, we get a moment of her questioning the color of her hair. Claire touches Roger’s throat, and it’s clear that something starts to happen. Is it possible that Claire is already showing signs of her abilities? I think so.
This chapter certainly foreshadows some things to come in the chapter. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
While I would love to see this chapter used in the TV series, I can’t see how it could be. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 5.
