Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Claire waking. It’s somewhat surprising to find out that she and Jamie continue to sleep out under the stars while the house is being built. Others are sleeping in other cabins around the Ridge.

Claire wonders about who will come to see her first, and she guesses it will be Roger. Sure enough it is, and he brings breakfast. The children are off gathering firewood, and Roger jokes that they only came back in time for the free babysitting.

I do love how protective Jem is of his sister. After everything that they went through with Rob Cameron and going through the stones to different time periods, it’s not that surprising to see him take his sister under his wing like that.

However, he does want to talk to Claire about something serious. He brings up Dr. McEwan and mentions the blue light that he saw. Claire notes that she’s seen the light before, when Master Raymond healed her. We also know that she is still to come into her powers. Is it possible that she will get that blue light?

The mention of when Claire saw the blue light did have me thinking of something. Is it possible that McEwan was Master Raymond under a different name? I can’t remember the description of him. I do remember him sharing that he didn’t know much about where he was when he fell through time, but that could have been a story.
