Outlander Book Club: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 3 breakdown
Roger tells Claire about Dr. McEwan in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 3
As Claire wakes, she starts to guess at who will visit her first in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 3. Of course, it’s Roger.
Roger has always had a stronger connection to Claire than to Jamie. That’s partly because they’re from the same time period and they are both time travelers. It’s also because even now, Roger will have memories of Jamie beating him unconscious and selling him to the Mohawk. Sure, that is all water under the bridge, but the brain doesn’t let go of things that easily.
In this chapter, it’s all about time travel, so it makes sense that Roger would want to speak to Claire. He wants to talk to her about Dr. McEwan, and I certainly see that this could foreshadow some things to come. I think it foreshadows some things that don’t even happen in Book 9.
Will it be used in the adaptation? This all depends on whether McEwan is going to show up or not. I hope we do see him as it helps to add more around the time travel theories. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
