Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are back on the road. This time, they’re driving around New Zealand, bringing us a look at the country, the culture, and so much more. The new episode will see them focus on the Māori culture.
Of course, there is plenty of fun along the way. What will we get to see in the new episode?
Men in Kilts spoilers: 2×02 promo
The promo shares a few things that will go on. One of those is a look at Māori culture, specifically what looks to be the haka. You’ll have seen the haka performed at rugby games, but it is more significant than the opening to an All Blacks game.
We will also get to see Sam and Graham on the water. It looks like they’ll be racing in kayaks in the new episode, and Sam is taking things a little bit too competitively. Of course, it looks like his competitiveness is going to put him underwater. Literally.
Men in Kilts spoilers: 2×02 synopsis
The synopsis goes into a few more details about what the men will experience when it comes to the Māori culture. We’ll get to see a lot of focus on making sure this part of Indigenous life is preserved.
This is more than just learning how to do the haka, although I’m sure that is going to be fun to watch. It’s going to be about learning what the haka was for, and the lads may be surprised that there are some similarities between the haka and Highland dancing in Scotland in the times they were used in the past.
"Sam and Graham immerse themselves in the rich culture of the Māori; the lads learn ceremonial dances, fighting techniques, and showcase the important honour of keeping ancient cultures alive."
Men in Kilts airs Fridays on STARZ.
