3 best Jamie moments in Outlander Season 7, Episode 8
The Outlander Season 7A finale did not disappoint. Jamie is alive, and he faced William on the battlefield. Here are his best moments from the episode.
The one thing Jamie didn’t want to do was face his son on the other side of a barrel of a gun. During the First Battle of Saratoga, he nearly did. We knew William was on the battlefield, but they never ended up facing each other. However, Jamie’s worst fear happened during the Second Battle of Saratoga.
At the same time, Jamie needed to heal after his injuries sustained in the first battle. He also had to say goodbye to a family member. It’s time to look back at the best moments in the order that they happened.
Jamie’s best moments from Outlander Season 7, Episode 8
Shooting off William’s hat
During the second battle, Jamie was ordered by Benedict Arnold to shoot Simon Fraser. He couldn’t do it, though. After Murtagh’s death at the Battle of Alamance, there was no way Jamie would be able to be responsible for the death of another kinsman. Yes, he feels responsible for Murtagh, and that has always been clear.
So, he decided to shoot the hat off another officer. Jamie had no idea who this man was at first. It turned out to be William. You could see the shock in William’s face.
Had Jamie not been sent to Scotland after this, we may have seen Jamie in some trouble for his actions. After all, Daniel knew the great marksman that Jamie is. Daniel would have know that Jamie did that on purpose.
Saying goodbye to Simon Fraser
When Simon learned that Jamie was in the opposite camp, he asked for him. Jamie honored a dying man’s wish, being there for Simon’s final moments. It’s clear that they are more than just distant relatives. They knew each other when they were younger.
I especially love the moment of Jamie making sure the door of the tent was left open after Simon died. He would honor the Highlander superstition on the souls needing to get out. I also love that the British honored that, too.
Seeing Scotland once more
Jamie decided to make a home in the Colonies. That didn’t mean he’d never want to see Scotland again. However, he probably thought he never would see it. There was a chance when he said he was taking Young Ian back, but then he was pulled into war.
Well, his dream has come true. Jamie is back in Scotland, and the look on his face was priceless. If/when he does go back to the Colonies, it’s now fully his choice and not because he has to rescue his nephew from a Bakra.
