The live ratings for Outlander Season 7, Episode 7 saw another tick up. What does this mean for the series? Is it a hint at what people want to see?
The penultimate episode of Outlander Season 7A brought us focus on William, Roger, Bree, and Buck. We got to see more development for them, as we saw major movement in their storylines.
For William, it was all about his first chance to see battle. He refused not to be part of the First Battle of Saratoga, and it led to some devastating consequences. William was right there when his friend was killed before the British has even charged. All this was as William shared the name of the woman he’s interested in: Rachel.
As for Roger and Bree, we saw drama in the 20th century. Buck shared his story of how he’d come through the stones, but it’s not this “nuckelavee” that we needed to worry about. Rob Cameron proved himself to be the threat by taking Jemmy and potentially going through the stones.
Outlander Season 7, Episode 7 live ratings
The live ratings saw a tick up in both the demo and total audience. The demo for Outlander Season 7, Episode 7 was up 50%. The total audience went up by 14%. It’s the third best episode of the season so far in the total audience and second-best so far in the demo.
What does this suggest? Well, it certainly seems like people are interested in seeing the side characters grow. William is getting a lot of screentime, and fans want to see that development. There are chances that people want to see any subtle connections to Jamie and to see if he will learn that he is Jamie’s son any time soon.
There’s also a suggestion that fans are interested in the Jemmy storyline. This whole 20th-century storyline is going to be two books combined into one. Things are a little slow for Roger and Bree in An Echo in the Bone, and it looks like Season 7B will push us into the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood story.
Of course, the live ratings are only for those tuning in at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the linear channel. There are many more watching on the app, but only STARZ has access to those figures.
