Rob Cameron charming his way into the MacKenzies

We need to see the smarmy side of Rob Cameron. This is important to understand why the MacKenzies would trust the man in the first place.

After all, Rob was left alone with the Reverend Wakefield’s hymnals. That was in Roger’s office where there were bits and pieces from the past and about time travel. Why would Roger and Bree leave him there?

Then we have him inviting Jemmy to the movies with his nephew. Now, it’s clear with Bree having the mother’s phone number that the two kids are friends at school. However, we need to see for ourselves that Rob is a bit of a charmer. That’s certainly the case throughout the episode.

Roger and Brianna connecting as a couple

There were mentions throughout Outlander Season 7 of Roger wanting to be with Bree in an intimate manner. We can presume that this happens a lot off-screen, but it happened on-screen. And yes, for some of us, it was hot.

Actually, I really loved the way the intimacy consultant preserved Sophie’s modesty. There’s a moment where Bree rolls over and Roger’s arm completely covers her breasts so they aren’t seen. It actually almost felt like Richard was focused on making sure Sophie was covered for this moment, and I really respect that choice.

I think that’s what stood out for me in this scene and why it actually becomes one of my favorite moments. The intimacy is there, but so is the modesty. There have been a lot of complaints from actors of all genders when it comes to intimate scenes of the past. Outlander has changed things up to be respectful of all. Some of it really can be left to our imaginations.
