Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 142 breakdown
Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
This certainly makes me think that Claire eventually tells Jamie everything that happened at the trading post. I’m almost certain I can remember it, but I don’t know if it’s something I’ve dreamt because I thought it should happen.
The chapter more foreshadows the sense that danger is just around the corner. Claire and Jamie both talk about needing to see emergencies before the emergencies get to them. Jamie wonders if he should know anything about the future just yet. It’s clear that there is something in the air that is about to happen. After all, we have a whole other book to follow this.
I do wonder if all this foreshadows Bree and Roger coming back. Claire is talking about how she needs to see emergencies from her surgery. Maybe it’s not just emergencies.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
While I suspect we’ll gloss over everything to do with the Beardsley Trading Post, I do think we’ll get some of this chapter in the series. We need to see the house being built, and we need Jamie’s line about how Claire is the only one of the family to burn the house down.
This part could be included with other events that happen. It could be just like the moments in Outlander Season 7 where Claire and Jamie talk about the new house in the aftermath of the Big House burning down.
