Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter certainly seems to foreshadow things for Jamie. I’m almost certain that Jamie ends up finding out about the events at the trading post and he needs to figure out what to do. I just can’t remember the story enough at this point.

I just always get to this and groan at the waste of time I’ve felt it be. There are so many off-page moments that I’d prefer to read about than this.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I don’t see this chapter being used in the TV series. Part of it is that there isn’t enough time. I just don’t see the storyline of the women and Young Ian heading to the trading post. It doesn’t push the story forward in any way.

I also don’t see it being used because the only person who was said to get away from Jamie at the end of Outlander Season 5 was Donner. Having someone else escape would mean Jamie lied or he didn’t realize. I get that he didn’t realize that Donner had escaped, but I have a feeling that’s because Donner wasn’t loyal to the group at all and got away as soon as Jamie’s men moved in. I think everyone else would have fought for the Browns, so Jamie and his men would have noticed if someone else escaped.
