Jenny asks Claire about the man at the Beardsley’s in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 141

Young Ian wasn’t the only one to spot something change in Claire at the Beardsley trading post. Jenny brings it up in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 141.

I have missed Claire and Jenny being this close. Since Claire returned, Jenny has held back. That’s not surprising, to be honest. Jenny likely felt like Claire was lying about where she was. The truth is that while Claire was right that she was in another country, there were still lies and secrets.

The two have managed to get back to an understanding. There’s a good bond between them again, and that’s something this chapter offers. It’s the only reason I’m glad the situation at the trading post came up, although I do think we could have seen this at other points in the story.

I do feel like it foreshadows things for Jamie. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

What I don’t expect to see is this chapter used in the adaptation. We may get the conversation about Maggie, but not about the things that happen at the trading post. I don’t see any of that happening, and I’ll get to why in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 141.
