Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 138 breakdown
Claire and Jamie get organized at the Ridge in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 138
It’s time for life to start as normal for Claire and Jamie in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 138. The two get on with their own businesses at the Ridge.
I love that we see the two settle back into their own routines. They also need to make sure everyone knows who they are and what they offer the people of the Ridge. For Jamie, that means being the leader. For Claire, it means being the doctor.
Claire is able to show off her skills immediately when she decides it’s time to treat Fanny’s lisp. Ths lisp comes from a tongue-tie, and it’s something that Claire can treat quickly. I don’t think she was initially expecting to have so many spectators, though.
This chapter doesn’t really foreshadow much, though. It’s all about setting up the story for the next book. We need to close off one book to set up some of the way of life for the ninth book in the series.
Will it be used in the TV series? I’m not sure we’ll see it all. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 138.
