William wants to know more about his mother in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 136

It’s time for William to learn more about the night that he was conceived. Who better to ask than Jamie in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 136?

Of course, Jamie doesn’t want to discuss this. He thinks it’s ungentlemanly to discuss such things, but that isn’t going to stop William from asking. After all, he wants to know if he was the product of rape or not.

We know Jamie, but William doesn’t. It’s an understandable fear that William has, and I love that he gets a chance to set his mind at ease about that. This is a chance for him to really start to come to terms with everything and accept who his biological father is. I do think he needed to know this to be able to move forward.

I don’t sense any foreshadowing in this chapter. It’s more about setting up the story for William to accept who he is, a journey that he has been on all book. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

What about the adaptation, though? I’ll get to my thoughts on whether this chapter will be used or not in that section of the post.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 136.
