John and Hal get to Amaranthus in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 135

With news of where Amaranthus is, John and Hal head to Saperville in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 135. It’s time to find Benjamin’s wife and child.

This chapter certainly helps to bring some sort of closure to a story. You can tell we’re getting to the end of the book. It wraps up Part 8 of the story with the end of the search and rescue of Amaranthus.

There are still plenty of questions, though. It seems that Amaranthus believes her husband to be dead. We know that is likely not the case. William saw that the body buried in Benjamin’s plot did not belong to Ben. So, where is the elusive Grey?

I do love seeing Hal take to his grandchild, though. While things about Ben’s death are in question, it doesn’t seem like the paternity of the child is. Hal and John immediately bring mother and child into their protection.

I do see some foreshadowing in this chapter. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section of the post.

Will it be used in the TV series? I’ll get to my thoughts and suspicions about this in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 135.
