Claire takes Fanny to claim Jane’s body in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 134

We have a heartbreaking chapter that involves grief and leaving family behind in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 134. This is one where younger characters need to grow up quickly.

It all starts with Jamie returning after the events of the previous chapter. He promises William to look after Fanny, and Claire later promises the same thing. These two have never been able to turn children away. Just look at how they became adopted parents to Fergus.

Fanny is the only person who can go to claim Jane’s body, but it doesn’t go to plan. Fortunately, Lord John Grey is able to find a way to deal with the situation. This gives Claire and John a chance to catch up as there is a lot that John needs to know about Richardson and Amaranthus.

This chapter is more about setting things up to end this book and get us ready for the next book in the series. There aren’t many chapters left at this point. It means we’re seeing some hints of the storylines to come, as well as the threats that the Frasers will need to face. I’ll get to all that in the foreshadowing section.

As for adapting the story, I suspect we’ll see this. I’ll get into that in the adaptation part of the post.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 134.
