William turns to Jamie for help in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 133

Jamie steps up to help his son when he calls for help in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 133. William will do what he can to save Jane.

This is a bittersweet chapter. William realizes that Jamie could help him get to Jane, and Jamie does step up. That promise that Claire made is something Jamie can hold up—and he wants to hold up. He will be there when William asks for help.

Sadly, it’s too late. By the time they get to Jane, she can’t be saved. It’s certainly a heartbreaking moment for William, but it also brings up some memories of his childhood and thoughts of moments just recently.

This is a big turning point for William for me. He realizes that he can ask Jamie for help, and it certainly foreshadows some things to come in the next book. I think this also foreshadows things for Fanny.

Will it be used in the TV series? I think so, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section of this post.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 133.
