Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 131 breakdown
Claire finds out what Richardson wants in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 131
Richardson turns up and shares what he wants in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 131. Can we really trust what he wants at this point?
This chapter allows us to get to know Richardson a little more. We only know what he tells us, though. We either take everything at face value, or we suspect everything. It’s clear that he isn’t someone who always tells the truth, so when is he lying and when is he not?
Before Claire and Richardson can have a full conversation and Claire can agree to anything, Sophrina comes in ready for her surgery. This leads to a conversation about sterilization, reproductive care, and so much more.
Part of this chapter does strike me as odd. Claire has always been so against slavery, and then she’s having the conversation about sterilization. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the breakdown of the chapter.
This chapter certainly pushes the Richardson plot forward. This is something that is sure to come up later, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.
I suspect that the Richardson part of this chapter will be used. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
