Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
The chapter doesn’t foreshadow all that much. It’s more about setting up the story for the next part of Claire and Jamie’s journey.
We do get a little for Fergus and Marsali, though. It’s clear that nothing that has happened will deter them from setting up their print shop. This is something Fergus can do and enjoys doing. The family will deal with the trouble that comes their way.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
It’s hard to tell if the Siege of Savannah will happen in the Outlander books. Very little in terms of drama happens in this part of the story. We could just end up with Claire’s voiceover telling us about the siege happening.
It is a smaller part of the Revolutionary War that isn’t taught as much in schools, especially in the north. It would be worthwhile showing it for educational reasons, but there’s so little time and so much to fit in.
